Below are the instructions for detecting the presence of the newer flasher module used in the newer cars, it's also part of the installation instructions. 1997 cars and up should all have this module, some of the books I looked at state the '96s should have the older module, all of the '96s I looked at have the newer modules, I haven't looked at any '95s yet. If your car has the older module please email me with information about your car, so I may track when this change took place and also if enough people respond with interest I will make a version of Motion Signals for these cars also.
Step 1
You must remove these (2) clips from your glovebox to allow it to open fully. The clips remove very easy - open the glovebox, grab the clip, slightly close the glovebox to remove the weight from the clip, and gently press the clip inward and towards the front of the glovebox, remove them fully, the glovebox will now open fully.
Step 2
Look into the glovebox opening towards the center of the dash, you should see this cable, it needs to be disconnected to allow the dash vent panel to be removed, you might want to mark its location with tape so you won't have to align it when you put it back in place. Simply pull the cable towards you, it's just snapped into this latch and looped over the white lever.
Step 3
Now remove the center dash vent panel, it's snapped in place and pulls straight out. Either grab the vent openings and pull or carefully pry it out around its edges.
Step 4
Look down and to the right inside the vent panel opening, you should this black module approx size = 3" x 4" x 1", it should have a 10-pin connector at its base. If you see a smaller module approx size = 1.5" x 1.5 x 1", with only a 3 wire connector then this version of the Motion Signals will not work with your car.
