Mustang Installation Page 9

Step 33

Find the 3" red jumper wire supplied in the kit, there are 5 wires on this plug, look at the back of the plug and locate the purple w/ orange stripe wire and the blue wire - install the 3" jumper wire so that it connects these 2 wires together. Now locate the red w/ white sripe wire and the white w/ red stripe wire - the red wire from the Signal Board (the one with the fuse holder) connects these 2 wires together.

It should look like this when you are done, if you miswire 2 things may happen - 1) one of these wires is hot all the time and one is a ground, if you connect these together you will get a spark and blow a fuse (bad!), or 2) your accessories will work without the key (not so bad).

Step 34

Now stuff the connector with the jumpers on it up into the dash, you can reinstall the flasher relay back into its original location and use it to hold the connector up and out of the way of you feet, be careful the the jumpers don't work loose when stuffing. Connect the 4 white connectors together, there are 2 possible combinations, it should look as shown, the other combination is used when you convert back to factory. Reinstall the kick panel and door carpet retainer.

Step 35

Stuff the wires behind the kick panel leaving the connectors accessible - for converting back to stock, it should look something like this when done.

Step 36

Move back to the trunk, plug in the control box, notice that I've attached the test plugs to the tail light harness using tie wraps, this seems like a great place to store them and you can attach them without cutting the tie wraps. You can now adjust the system to your liking, use the users manual to begin playing with functions.
